A majority of vitamin products on the market today contain or are derived from sources that are forbidden for Muslims to consume.  For instance, the gelatin capsules used by most of the industry are made mostly from pork by-products. The Human body is constantly rebuilding and repairing all of its cells.  Each cell requires certain elements if it is to be constructed properly.  If any of these elements are not available due to dietary deficiency, etc., the cell will not be optimally constructed.  If this is continued over a long period of time cellular degeneration and malfunction will occur.  An analogy would be; if you are baking a cake you will need certain ingredients in order to make that perfect cake.  Let’s say that you were short an ingredient such as milk, flour or eggs.  That cake will not be a cake unless all ingredients are included in their proper amounts.  The same goes for the body.

In Nature, vitamins occur as complexes not as synthetic fractions.  These complexes contain vitamins, minerals, enzymes, coenzymes, and other synergistic elements all balanced for the particular qualities of that individual food.  In this form the body has the ability to absorb what it requires and discard what is not needed.

Halal Vitamins^tm food concentrates are manufactured from foods freeze-dried to retain the vitamin complexes and then concentrated into tablet form.  Some of our formulas also contain New Zealand bovine or lamb glandular concentrates to provide the amino acid profile necessary to rebuild and aid in proper functioning of those particular organs.  All glandular concentrates come from Halal (lawful) beef or lamb that are free ranging and are free from synthetic hormones and diseases.  No pork products or any other Harram (forbidden) food products are used in Halal Vitamin’s food supplements.

Most vitamin manufacturers call their supplements all-natural when they are anything but.  Legally, a manufacturer can label its vitamin as natural if it originated from a natural substance even if chemical solvents are used to strip away a single purified fraction that they call a vitamin. 

Halal Vitamins^tm doesn’t believe in such “loop holes”.  Our policy is actually quite simple, “vitamins come from foods”.  They cannot be separated from their natural synergists and still function as vitamins.
